Perforated Structures

.

A fashion project, based around the patterns found in architecture.

The structured shapes of tiles, shopping centres, decorative ironwork and stonework found on buildings created a basis for the drawing research.

Perforated fabrics were selected to use as base layers, before beading and embroidery was added to layer up patterns and structures. Dissolvable fabric has also been used to begin constructing structures out of only embroidery thread.

The collection consists of designs created to be used as loose, sheer skirts, and draped layers over dresses.
